Welcome to the official web site of the UAH Formula SAE Racing Team. Charger Motorsports is a highly motivating and interactive student program sanctioned by The University of Alabama in Huntsville's College of Engineering.

  For the purposes of competition the team is to assume the role of an engineering firm designing a prototype vehicle that will be sold to a customer (ie, the competition judges). Students design, build, and test small open-wheel race cars and compete with schools from all over the country. UAH students from all disciplines are given the opportunity to gain insight and knowledge into the implications of design and analysis not possible in a classroom setting. Concepts such as project-based teamwork and goal-oriented scheduling are also intimately integrated into the program.

  This competition takes place in Pontiac, Michigan, and is sponsored by the Society of Automotive Engineers and a consortium of transportation-related companies.

  For our team to compete in this annual event, we rely on support from corporate, business, community, and individual leaders. Thanks to these sponsors, UAH students are given the opportunity to take advantage of the experience and knowledge available through Formula SAE program.
