Any best list or greatest list is extremely subjective. However there a lot of professionals and fans alike who consistently rate Ricky Carmichael as one of the best in NASCAR. Carmichael now 31, is from the Clearwater, Florida area. He has bestowed the nickname ‘GOAT’ which is an acronym for, Greatest Of All Time. Carmichael made his debut as a professional driver in 1997. He was part of the elite Kawasaki team. He won many races his first year out, and was named Rookie of the Year. The year 2000 was a stellar year for Ricky Carmichael. He had an outstanding five first place finishes that year. In 2002 he switched over to Honda, but had a devastating year, with no earned points, some blamed the dismal year to the switch to Honda. He had an extraordinary comeback the next year 2003. He won both National and Super-cross Titles, and some where dubbing him the ‘Comeback Kid’. The next year, 2004, in spite of a serious knee injury, Carmichael was still able to have a flawless year, winning all 24 of his 24 races that year. The next year 2005, started out with low expectations for the ‘Comeback Kid’. He started the year, as one that was not expected to do that much, because he missed so much of the prior year, due to his knee injury and rehab. He extraordinarily able to capture the Motocross title that year, despite coming in with such low expectations. Carmichael entered 2006 stating publicly that, that would be last full year, he said he planned to retire sometime in 2007. The last race for him in 2006 ended with a very serious crash, however he did not get seriously injured, and still had an impressive year. His next year, 2007 was his final year.

Anyone with a television and internet service providers has probably heard of drift racing but few understand its origins. We see movies like The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift and Cars 2 that make liberal use of the technique and attribute it to Japan, and even Japanese cartoons like Initial D all focus on the concept of drift racing and its roots in Japanese culture. Many people to this day continue to think drift racing originated in Japan but the earliest known techniques for executing a drift were recorded in the 1930s during the Grand Prix.

What is drifting? It’s a technique by which the driver intentionally over steers and causes a loss of traction in the rear tires through the turn and is able to maintain both vehicle control and exit speed. This allows the car to take some majorly sharp turns while staying on the track and keeping both the speed and momentum of their vehicle.

The trick has been used by many a racer throughout the years in order to turn the tide of a competition and reach out from the back to snatch up the lead. There are even racing competitions devoted entirely to that style of driving.

Motocross racing has always been an expensive sport and given current economic conditions it is of no surprise that motorcycle sales and the sport in general have been slumping. The 12 race AMA Motocross National Series, which runs over the summer, is successful and growing but that is due to corporate sponsorships and factory race teams.

The costs involved to race motocross at any level are monstrous. A new motorcycle, protective gear, and replacement parts can cost over 10 thousand dollars. A box van or trailer is also needed to transport motorcycles, parts, gear, and tools to each race. Fuel, lodging, and food only add to the already mounting pile of cash necessary just to line up on the starting line. Top level professional riders have massive teams and budgets at their disposal so they can focus on training and racing. The local or privateer professional has to cover all of these costs on his own while also training, riding, and racing.

Motocross, as a sport, is still very strong on the regional and national levels. Future corporate sponsorships and motorcycle factory involvement will determine national level growth and health. Regional motocross racing is and will always be healthy as long as tracks and riding areas are available for locals to ride and race on.

For Nascar fans, and race fans all across the United States, the Indy 500 is one of the greatest racing events, which fans wait for annually. It is debatably the greatest race in Nascar’s history, yet some proponents of the racing world will not go as far as calling it the greatest race to date. It is one of the major Nascar races which is held annually, and is one of the most watched races in the racing world. However, there are approximately ten other big Nascar races which are also held annually, and depending on the fan (or expert), they will debate that the Indy 500 is not the greatest Nascar racing event.

Although it is one of the biggest races each year, draws huge turnouts in the racing world, and has been held annually for over 50 years now, the Indy 500 is only of the great races which are held annually. So, although it is one of the greatest races to date, it is debatable among Nascar fans, and Nascar races in the industry, whether or not it is the ultimate greatest race in the history of the sport. It is deeply rooted in Nascar history, and to some fans, is the greatest race to date.

Who is the best NASCAR driver of all time? Trying to pin down the greatest race car driver is difficult. Race car fans are a die-hard bunch, and the war of wills as to who the best driver of all time is can create some major fan tension and controversy. What makes a better driver? Winning more championships, or individual races; the drive and passion a driver brings to the race, or the new trends and excitement they bring to the sport? With all of these aspects of racing to consider, identifying the greatest race car driver of all time is complex, but not impossible.Check out this link here.

Nicknamed “The King”, Richard petty is tied with Dale Earnhardt for Cup Series Championships, with seven wins. He holds the number one position of most wins at 200, well above the number two place. In addition to his remarkable record winnings, he holds a huge amount of other records.

Many NASCAR fans today are constantly complaining about all of the changes that have been made to the sport. Competitors used to race cars that could actually be purchased from the local dealership, opposed to duplicate bodies with different cosmetics. In previous decades, drivers also did not have the safety equipment that is featured in today’s cars, which gave the sport a tougher image.

The changes that NASCAR has implemented are all good for the most part. The thing people do not like is that technology plays a larger role in how high the driver places.I was looking for more information and found it here. In previous decades, the winner was the one who could push the pedal to the metal, without spinning out. The changes have made the cars substantially faster and safer. This is a combination that no one ever dreamed would be possible, as more drivers were injured when the cars were slower. Everything from the walls that actually cushion impact, to the driver’s seat being moved over a small amount have extended many drivers’ careers. It is really pretty amazing that a driver, travelling close to 200 miles per hour, can hit a wall or flip several times and walk away from the wreck. This would have never occurred if NASCAR did not make all of the changes.
